Creativity - The River of Life
Topic Presenter: Mary Gay Shafer, MACreativity flows like a river, sparkles as the sunlight on a lake, swoops with the sparrow, and tumbles into form like a rock off the cliff.
Long to set your creative spirit free?
It is intrinsic to our human nature to be expressive and all the arts are capable of offering a taste of creation itself. To bring forth beauty, to manifest our inspirations, to laugh and play together and tell our stories in color, rhyme and gesture this is our spirit expressed as our humanity. In truth, we are all artists.
As Mary Gay Shafer guides you on this tour, you will journey through the internal terrain of your inherently creative nature. Your creative spirit will be enticed to manifest through guided inner journeys, drawing, crafts, movement, drama, music and writing. In other words, you will play in the fertile field of your creative imagination where anything is possible and dreams do come true. No art experience is necessary for this enjoyable excursion.

You are a continuous outpouring of creativity.
In each moment of each day you are a continuous source of creativity. With the first breath in the morning you awaken to the freshness of the unexpected and meet it with all of your resources and capabilities. And in the last lowering of the eyelids you surrender into the limitless possibilities of your dreams, delightfully surprising in their uniqueness.
Even in your daydreams you find freedom from limitation. What some may call incessant thinking is the continuous flow of thought generated out of the creative mind. Problem solving, reasoning, learning and communicating are all creations of the intellect. Perceiving, intuiting and knowing are creations of the greater mind.
Your body, too, is constantly regenerating itself. Your feelings and emotions move within you, animating every experience. To be human is to be creative. When you are dynamically immersed in this flow, more abundance, more choices and more vitality are possible. We will engage our inherently creative nature directly and allow the expressions to emerge without the limiting conditions of judgment and comparison.
This time is not about the art objects and not about the end product. We are gathering to explore the essence of the creative process itself, engaging it for its own sake and appreciating the results from a perspective of wonder and pure enjoyment.
